一般に「指数関数的成長」といいますが、これは指数関数A^xが以下の三区間で振る舞いを全く異にする辺りに由来しているのです。

- 「無視可能な状態(Ignorable State)=1/(root^x)」…プランクトンの様な微生物の世界。未来から振り返ると有意味情報を抽出するのに困難を感じるほど微小な変化しか遂げてない様に見える。一応オイラーの原始量(Euler’s primitive sweep)概念でいう「−1」の領域と重なるが、数理モデルとして別物に上書きされてしまっている。

*とはいえ「過去」は常に現在のレッド・オーシャンを回避する「第三の道」の宝庫であり、そこで志向される「輝かしい未来」は指数関数的成長を想定したりしてるので、実世界における在り方はそれほど単純でもない。
ところで、ここでいうCurrentには「(時間軸上における)現在の」という意味もあります。そこでこの解釈を前後の「無視可能な状態(Ignorable State)=1/(root^x)」や「有意味な状態(Significant State)=root^x」にも敷衍して各グラフの形の位相を90度単位でs推移させていくと動かしていくと、以下の様に可換性のある「過去」と「未来」の状態遷移図が浮かび上がってくるのです。
- 無視可能な状態(Ignorable State = 1/(root^x)、あるいは-1*(1/(root^x)))から有意味な増大(Significant Increase = root^x)へ
- 無視可能な状態(Ignorable State = 1/(root^x)、あるいは-1*(1/(root^x)))から有意味な減少(Significant Decrease = -(root^x))へ

しかもその境界線として傾きが完全消失する指数関数のroot^0,対数関数のlog(0,base=root)地点(root/root)が「半径1の円を描く」イメージが浮かび上がってくるのです。
